Employee Ownership
Recology is proud to be a 100% employee-owned company. This means that Recology is 100% owned by the Recology Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and not by any outside investors.
In 1986, Recology employees bought the corporation through an ESOP-a plan that provides retirement benefits to our employees based on the success of our company. An ESOP is not an option to purchase stock at a discount. If employees meet the eligibility requirements of the ESOP, they begin to earn shares of stock.
The Recology ESOP makes it easy for Recology to focus on providing long-term, sustainable solutions to our customers, and strengthens teamwork and collaboration by tying employees' performance with the overall company's success. As the largest employee-owned company in our industry, we understand that our individual and collective hard work and dedication lead directly to our success over the long term.

Just a thank you to the gentleman who was driving the recycling truck today. I was passing by my window when he was collecting my recycling and a small paper fell on the ground in front of my home. He stopped the truck, got out, and picked it up instead of leaving debris in front of my home, which I have experienced before on garbage collection days.
